EACH YEAR, there are
new muscular dystrophy cases worldwide.
Hello my name is Morty (Raymond P. Morton) I have Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy (MD). I went to the doctor in 2010 to see why my legs were so weak, and I was diagnosed with MD. This came after beating bladder cancer in 2000, and being in recovery from alcoholism since 1993. When I first received this diagnosis, my doctor wanted me to go on disability. I decided that if I could still lift my leg up to ride my motorcycle, then I could still work. I lasted 7 more years, until now... This ride is not about me. I plan on going for a ride across the United States with one of my best friends who helped me get sober. We will be leaving in July and returning in September. Follow us on our journey!
Check out where I'm at on "The Ride." I will be regularly adding video from my GoPro.
